Your Cakes for November

I'm not a fan of apple picking. I don't get it. You get a sack of apples for two cents. Big whoop. I'm sort of a fan of apples and I am a fan of this bundt–especially with the caramel glaze. Then the black pepper complements the other spices and gives it a nice kick. So, do as I do: avoid the crowds, stay at home and eat this cake.

I thought I would jump on the bandwagon for Basic Bitch season. Pumpkin this, pumpkin that... so get that comfortable Fall feeling in a cake. The pumpkin is your cozy, oversized sofa, the cream cheese frosting is your thick, woven throw, and the caramelized pepitas is you finding $20 between the cushions.

So, I decided to go 3-for-3 for this month–all fruit/vegetable-based cakes. And since Fall is orange and a carrot is orange, I thought it worked. This is my favorite of the lot. It's moist, creamy, and incredibly tasty. I should probably tell you that it contains walnuts and raisins. Don't like 'em? I can leave 'em out.
